Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery and Anti-Trafficking Statement

Man with Van Preston is committed to operating responsibly, ethically, and with integrity in all our business dealings. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold and promote human rights in the communities where we operate.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Preston provides transport, removals, and associated logistics services. Our activities involve direct employees, casual and agency workers, subcontracted drivers, vehicle hire companies, fuel and equipment suppliers, and providers of office and support services. We understand that risks can exist at multiple levels of the supply chain, particularly where labour is outsourced or where goods and services are sourced from higher risk sectors or regions.

Zero-Tolerance Approach

We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. Any form of forced, bonded, or compulsory labour, debt bondage, servitude, child labour that is unlawful or exploitative, or any abuse of vulnerable workers is wholly unacceptable. This applies to our own operations and to all individuals and organisations working on our behalf, including employees, contractors, and suppliers.

All managers and supervisors are responsible for promoting this zero-tolerance stance, challenging any behaviour or arrangement that may compromise human rights, and taking immediate action if concerns arise. Failure to uphold this policy may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing management, we:

Require suppliers to confirm that they comply with all applicable labour and human rights legislation and that they do not engage in modern slavery or human trafficking. Communicate our zero-tolerance expectations and make clear that adherence to these standards is a condition of doing business with Man with Van Preston. Carry out proportionate due diligence on higher risk suppliers, which may include requests for policies, worker welfare information, and details of their own supply chain oversight.

We reserve the right to conduct audits, site visits, or request evidence of compliance from suppliers where we identify elevated risk. If a supplier is found to be in breach of our standards, we will seek appropriate remediation and, where necessary, suspend or terminate the relationship.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We encourage all employees, workers, contractors, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about modern slavery, human trafficking, or any unethical labour practices without fear of retaliation. Individuals are encouraged to report concerns directly to their manager, a senior member of the management team, or through any existing internal reporting channels.

All reports will be treated seriously and, where possible, confidentially. We will investigate concerns promptly, take appropriate corrective or protective action, and cooperate with relevant authorities when required. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith will not be tolerated.

Training and Awareness

We aim to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and contractor management. Training and guidance may cover recognizing indicators of exploitation, understanding our zero-tolerance policy, and knowing how to report concerns or suspected cases safely and effectively.

Monitoring, Accountability and Annual Review

Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and related measures rests with the leadership of Man with Van Preston. We monitor the effectiveness of our approach through ongoing review of supplier relationships, feedback from workers, and any concerns raised through reporting channels.

This statement will be reviewed at least annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our business, legal requirements, best practice guidance, and insights from our risk assessments. Where improvements are identified, we will set clear actions and timelines to strengthen our controls and ensure our operations and supply chains remain aligned with our ethical commitments.

This Modern Slavery Statement reflects the position of Man with Van Preston at the time of publication and demonstrates our continued commitment to preventing modern slavery in all its forms.
